It can easily be the heart of a great home theater system. To try and uphold their tradition of making gear that sounds natural, Marantz has a program in Japan where they train engineers to be what they call a “Marantz Sound Master”. They will learn to identify the type of sound that has made Marantz famous and perform many listening tests as a product is being developed. While it is not clear if this is done for every single Marantz product, we know for a fact the new CINEMA 40 went through the Sound Master listening process to fine-tune its sonic signature for that warm Marantz sound. The CINEMA 40 is even made in the Shirakawa plant in Japan. Build quality-wise, we have always been impressed with the way Marantz puts their units together. On both the CINEMA 40 and CINEMA 50, you get an aluminum front panel with the cool new look they launched with their Series 30. You can tell Marantz believes these are built to last as they put a full 5-year parts and labor warranty on both units.

Product Highlights:

9-channel amplifier

125 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.05% THD, with 2 channels driven

Marantz's Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM) offer exquisite detail and dynamic range while reducing noise

Dolby®, DTS®, and Auro-3D® surround sound decoding

IMAX® Enhanced reproduces the full dynamic range of specially encoded IMAX soundtracks from compatible sources

Future compatibility with optional Dirac Live® advanced speaker calibration system (coming soon in 2023; requires purchase of software license)

Requires installation of Dirac Live software on a Mac or PC prior to calibration

Built-in Wi-Fi for listening to music from a networked PC, free internet radio, and music services

HEOS Built-in technology wirelessly connects compatible HEOS components for whole home audio

Apple AirPlay 2 lets you stream directly from an iPhone® or iPad® and ask Siri to play Apple Music®

Supports multi-room audio with compatible wireless speakers

Built-in Bluetooth for wireless music listening with smartphones, tablets, and compatible computers

Bluetooth transmission for sending audio from the receiver to Bluetooth-enabled headphones

Three-room/three-source output

HDMI 2.1 audio/video switching: 7 in, 3 out

2 composite video inputs

1 component video input

digital audio inputs: 2 Toslink optical, 2 coaxial

5 analog stereo audio line-level inputs

2 analog stereo audio outputs (variable) for Zones 2 and 3

Dimensions: 17-3/8"W x 7-7/16"H x 17-3/16"D (9-15/16"H with Wi-Fi antennas raised)

Weight: 33 lbs., 3 oz.

Warranty: 5 years

Our 30-day money back guarantee

MFR # CINEMA 40

What's In The Box:

9.4ch AV receiver

6' AC power cord

Remote control (RC048SR)

2 "AAA" batteries

Sound calibration microphone (ACM1HB)

2 WiFi/Bluetooth antennas

FM wire antenna

AM loop antenna

Cardboard microphone stand

Quick Start Guide

Warranty Information

Safety Instructions

Notes on radio

Sheet of self-adhesive cable labels

Spotify brochure

Heos brochure

Microphone Stand Assembly Instructions

"Bluetooth/WiFi Certified" note

Optional Dirac Live note

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1162/4422/products/marantz-cinema-40-94-channel-home-theater-receiver-6424899.jpg?v=1753292508
https://www.electronicsexpo.com/products/marantz-cinema-40-9-4-channel-home-theater-receiver-certified-refurbished
