ELAC, the company that wowed thousands of dyed-in-the-wool audiophiles and steered many new listeners to the hobby with its line of high-performance, incredibly affordable speakers in the late 2010s, returns to its roots with the Debut 3.0 DB53 bookshelf speaker. Bolstered by a newly developed one-inch aluminum dome tweeter whose stiffness and lightness allow it to play with stellar clarity and detail, Debut 3.0 DB53 reproduces music with size-belying openness and consistency. A newly devised 5.25-inch aramid fiber woofer — chosen for its strength and rigidity — further permits this two-way model to deliver punchy bass that comes across with head-turning accuracy and definition.
